JOB DESCRIPTION
Creative Financial Staffing has been retained by a Private Equity backed consumer products company to identify a VP of Finance & Accounting (the “VP of Finance”) to join their team. The VP of Finance & Accounting will bring the outsourced accounting function in house. This role will have hands on responsibility for the daily operations of the accounting and finance function while partnering with the CEO and Private Equity firm to drive the strategic financial growth of the company.

• The VP of Finance will be expected to provide business and operational analysis, strategic insight, and tactical financial support to the company and Private Equity firm.

The VP of Finance responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Working with the CEO, The VP of Finance will oversee all aspects of the day-to-day accounting and financial management of the company, including: the preparation of the monthly financial package including highlights and comparisons to budget; management of GL accounts, annual audit and submission of federal and state (California and others) tax returns; and financial planning and annual budget.
• Provide monthly financial and operational reports and analytics to executive management and Private Equity firm.
• Develop and implement business process improvement initiatives and strategies.
• Increase the company’s ability to anticipate business issues and drive good decision-making through sound financial management.
• Further develop guidelines and processes corresponding to the rapid growth of the company.
• Implement and maintain reliable budgeting and forecasting tools (P&L, cash flow and balance sheet).
• Support insurance, IT, and HR requirements.
• Must be willing to relocate to southern Orange County, CA.

Qualifications:

• Undergraduate degree in accounting
• CPA, MBA or master’s degree in finance is preferred, but not required.
• 8 plus years of experience.
• Proficiency in Quickbooks
• Operational experience establishing and implementing process improvement initiatives within a high growth environment preferred.

Compensation: $150K to $175K plus bonus and equity
