Description
Our client, a nonprofit organization that provides emergency food packages and homelessness prevention assistance, is seeking a freelance Event Marketing Manager with social media marketing experience, to support their team for ~15 weeks of work or (120 hours / month MAX).
Implement print and digital marketing plans for signature fundraising events
Identify target audiences and develop messaging
Develop social media content, schedule calendar posts, place online ads and track engagement across Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn
Secure sponsorships and ads for all events in the form of corporate support, community-based organizations, houses of worship and individual donors
Oversee preparation of event materials
Supervise mailing of collateral invitations and related materials and manage the RSVP list
Ensure event activation assets are available to meet sponsorship agreements
Track all sponsors, monetary and In Kind donations
Co-create list criteria for direct mailing or email campaigns via the CRM
Secure input and active participation from board members, event chairpersons and appropriate committees and key staff
Manage and negotiate all vendor contracts related to event execution with the organization’s preferred vendors
Manage all event details including budgets, vendors, contracts, schedules, logistics and administrative tasks
Work with Communications Director to ensure event promotional and day-of materials are available in a timely manner
Manage registration, coordinating event set-up and break-down, and overseeing any necessary troubleshooting
Initiate post event debriefings, event evaluation and analysis to measure success and identify areas for improvement
Maintain and update an annual calendar of planned events with timelines for each event
Coordinate and manage offsite food pop up distributions
Have a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Hospitality, or related field
Have at least 2 years of experience in event marketing and coordination, preferably in a non-profit setting
Experience with Canva, Mailchimp, Bloomberang or Hootsuite is a plus
Have demonstrated experience with social media marketing and content creation
Video direction / content creation a plus
Be comfortable working across Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn and have a deep knowledge of the functionality and best practices of each platform
Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders
Be skilled in using a CRM to enhance marketing campaigns
Be highly organized and detail-oriented, with strong project management skills
Be able to work effectively under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously
Be comfortable receiving feedback and implementing changes as needed
Be responsive when working on this project and stay in communication with the team regarding deadlines, revisions, etc.
Be able to synthesize internal feedback to produce nothing less than high-quality work for all deliverables
Have a passion for the organization’s mission and commitment to making a positive impact in the community
**Please note: This is a hybrid position – you will be required to commute to the client’s office in Englewood, NJ at least 20 hours / week and attend in-person events as needed.**
