Job Title & Location

Your role as Accounts Assistant reports to the Senior Finance Manager. The position is located in our head office near Farringdon in central London with the potential for occasional travel to any of our sites throughout the UK and Europe. There is scope to work from home, but this will be at your managers discretion.

Job Purpose

To support the Senior Finance Manager by overseeing the Accounts Payable function of the organisation and supporting the production of monthly management accounts, statutory financial statements, producing excellent quality, robust financial information and any ad-hoc projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day operations of Accounts Payable function from end-to-end
• Processing invoices accurately and in a timely manner and ensuring invoices have been approved and coded correctly
• Manage Accounts Payables inbox
• Prepare weekly payment runs and manual payments for review by Senior Finance Manager
• Dealing with and resolving Supplier queries
• Perform regular reconciliations of supplier statements
• Ensuring new supplier forms are submitted correctly and actioned promptly
• Assist with month end closing by preparing journals and any other adjustments required
• As the company continues its rapid expansion, look to improve our processes and MI data and reporting.
• Preparation of audit files and liaison with external auditors for annual statutory accounts.
• Assisting in the process of annual budget preparation and quarterly forecasting.
• Provide cover for other team members
• Maintaining the accuracy and integrity of financial systems and supporting future system developments.
• Monitor compliance with financial controls and seek to improve them.
• Involvement in company projects
• Adhoc analysis

Education/ Qualifications

• Undertaking AAT/ACCA/CIMA qualification or equivalent, or ability to demonstrate relevant skills through relevant experience – Essential
• Excellent command of written and spoken English – Essential

Experience/Skills – Essential

• Previous experience of finance business support
• Experience of line management of finance colleagues and performance measurement
• High levels of IT skills (Financial Systems, Excel and Word)
• Ability to work alone or as part of a team
• Demonstrates an organised approach
• The ability to prioritise, meet deadlines and work under pressure
• Flexibility and willingness to undertake tasks as required and learn new tasks
• Flexibility to travel to other UK sites and potentially overseas sites

Experience/Skills – Desirable

• Healthcare experience or similar industry
• Experience of Navision financial system
• Experience of working in a busy finance department
• Experience of working in a customer focused environment.
• Experience of dealing with challenging customers and stakeholders
• An understanding of IVF and the needs and requirements of patients
• Experience of IDEAS Fertility Clinic Software

This role meets the requirements in respect of exempted questions under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.
