CPR Looking for Senior Infrastructure Design Engineer at Birmingham Full Time

We are currently dealing with a leading SME who are looking for an experienced Infrastructure and Highways Design Engineer to join their Birmingham Office on a permanent basis.

In the position, you will be working alongside the 100 other staff across the consultancy’s various offices, providing crucial infrastructure design expertise and highways design support for a variety of private and public sector projects. Typical projects would include small scale junction improvements, urban regeneration, active travel schemes (bus lanes, cycle lanes & pedestrianisation) in the public sector, and medium to large scale private developments. this could include commercial and industrial schemes, as well as residential developments ranging from 150-4000+ units.

With the client being on various Housing and Local Authorities, there is strong and concrete pipeline of work for the long term future.

In the position you will be:

–          Mentoring and guiding more junior engineers and technicians in their technical capabilities
–          Preparing feasibility studies
–          Contribute to fee proposals and negotiating with clients
–          Personally designing infrastructure schemes with one of the following software: AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Site3D, MicroDrainage or PDS
–          Manage workloads of junior colleagues
–          Providing technical input and oversight into projects
–          Liaise with clients and ensure that technical outputs are produced in accordance with client and stakeholder requests

The right candidate will have:

–          A relevant Civil Engineering Degree or similar qualification
–          Knowledge of highways design standards such as the DMRB, MCHW, MfS or others
–          Working knowledge of Drainage design standards (Sewers for Adoption, SuDS Manual)
–          Knowledge of Highways Agreements such as S278, S38
–          Knowledge of Drainage design Agreements such as S104 and S106
–          Excellent time management and communication skills

This position will provide full training and staff development for the candidate in line with their aspirations, such as being pushed towards Chartership, developing personal design skills, or their people or project management capabilities.
