DESIGN THE FUTURE WITH A GLOBAL TEAM OF EXPERTS
We are looking for a Principal Engineer to join our Infrastructure Engineer hubs in Derby, giving you the opportunity to co-create with our experts on some of the most prestigious infrastructure programmes in the UK. Working alongside the sector’s foremost engineers, you’ll have the opportunity to develop your career on technically challenging projects with the support of colleagues and on-going professional development activity. 
On a day-to-day basis, you’ll be responsible for:

• Managing technical aspects, checking and assessing drainage design of larger projects, or component of a major project. . 
• Managing the delivery of your projects to time and budget, ensuring an industry-leading standard of technical quality and compliance with our internal management systems
• Managing, mentoring and developing less experienced engineers and technicians within your project teams, working with line managers to maximise training opportunities
• Developing and maintaining client relationships through your project work, including identifying and realising any potential business opportunities 
• Assisting with the preparation of bids and tenders and supporting the Director’s in pursuing business development opportunities if required
• Production of engineering design, assessment or checking work including preparation or checking of calculations, written reports, specifications and other contract deliverables.
• Liaison with regulatory bodies and stakeholders to deliver the necessary approvals

Furthermore, you’ll;

• Chartered Civil engineer (MICE or equivalent)
• Have significant experience in a design environment working on drainage or civil projects in the UK or internationally
• Have experience in MicroDrainage modelling, Civil3D and/or equivalent industry standard modelling and design software
• Have significant experience leading project teams and managing the delivery of projects, either as client’s or contractor’s designer, ideally both
• Be an accomplished team leader with the ability to support, mentor and develop less experienced engineers
• Have the inter-personal skills and aptitude to work collaboratively in a diverse multi-disciplinary team
• Have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Be a technically strong engineer, able to demonstrate a deep understanding and passion for drainage and infrastructure engineering and a personal commitment to technical excellence
