EXTEND YOUR POTENTIAL WITH A GLOBAL TEAM OF EXPERTS
We are looking for an HR Advisor to join our team either in Uttoxeter or Derby, giving you the opportunity to co-create on some of the most prestigious infrastructure programmes in the UK.
Working closely with the UK Head of HR, HR team and Line Managers, the role will drive the implementation of the COWI People strategy. The role will require effective HR advisory support to ensure HR best practice is applied.
On a day-to-day basis, you’ll be responsible for:
Advising and guiding line managers where appropriate in the application of HR policies, frameworks and practices.
With support from the HR Business Partners, coordinating the mobility of UK employees and liaising with the Global Mobility Team according to the Mobility policy.
Supporting with the apprenticeship scheme in the UK along with support from the HR Co-ordinator
Supporting line managers in employee relations including case management and performance management.
Supporting the alignment of HR practices and the implementation of the annual HR process and the Group People strategy.
Liaising with the Recruitment team, issuing offers and standard contracts of employment.
Contributing to the delivery of the annual UK HR business plan.
Assisting in the update of HR policies and procedures.

You will be a trusted advisor to our line managers. Furthermore, you’ll have:
The ability to establish effective relationships with Line managers in order to advise and support line managers.
Knowledge of employee relations legislation and best practice.
Experience in issuing standard contracts of employment.
Knowledge of the UK Visa process and compliance requirements.
An enthusiastic, motivated approach to be able to effectively handle a number of deliverables and priorities in a busy and complex environment.
CIPD qualification (or equivalent) to at least level 5 and have detailed knowledge of employee relations legislation and HR best practice.
Experience of working within a professional corporate environment, ideally in a multi-location or international environment.
