COVID-19 Quarantine Victoria (CQV) is responsible for Victoria’s COVID-19 accommodation response, including quarantine for returned overseas travellers and emergency accommodation for people unable to safely isolate in their homes.

About The Role

The CQV Recruitment function includes recruitment teams and an onboarding team. The scope of recruitment includes volume recruitment of frontline quarantine staff, as well as end-to-end recruitment of corporate, support, and leadership staff.

Reporting to the Recruitment Manager, the Assistant Recruitment Manager provides day to day management and supervision of recruitment staff working on a variety of recruitment activity and projects.

Key responsibilities include:

• Line management of a team of recruitment professionals – including day to day oversight, workload allocation, recruitment, training, coaching, and development.
• Developing processes, policy, systems, and tools used by the team (and ensuring compliance with them).
• Maintaining oversight of any external providers supporting the recruitment function, such as the third party provider facilitating our volume recruitment of frontline staff.
• Building collaborative relationships with other leaders in the recruitment team, as well as peers and stakeholders across the HR function and broader organisation.
• Personally participating in recruitment activity and other projects as required.

About You

This is a key role in the recruitment team, and we expect someone with solid recruitment and leadership experience to take it on. We would love to find someone who already ticks all the boxes, but also recognise the importance of giving people the opportunity to develop where they show growth potential.

You should apply for this job if you are someone who:

• Holds subject matter expertise in recruitment, including best practice methodologies, and understands how both volume and end-to-end recruitment works.
• Has experience leading, developing, and inspiring team members in a professional setting.
• Is flexible enough to quickly respond to the ever-changing challenges the pandemic throws at us.
• Can balance the need to follow government process with the pragmatism required in a complex operational environment with unique requirements.

Some things that are advantageous but not critical are:

• Relevant tertiary qualifications (e.g. in HR, management, psychology).
• Experience in public sector recruitment.
• Experience in large scale operational/frontline recruitment.
