The Role

Covetrus is a global animal health organization providing a range of integrated services which drive improved clinical and financial outcomes for vets and pet owners.

Due to an internal promotion to our North American business, we are seeking to appoint the key senior leadership position of Director Human Resources, APAC. In this critical role, you will be responsible for the leadership and development of the APAC Human Resources (HR) team as well as delivering key strategic people initiatives across our region. We are flexible for this role to be based out of Sydney (Erskine Park) or Brisbane (Northgate).

Your responsibilities will include –

• Leading the execution of global and regional HR strategies.
• Collaborating as part of the APAC Leadership Team, contributing to overall business strategy while acting as a trusted business partner to the leadership group.
• Management, leadership, and professional development for a team of HR professionals based across the APAC region.
• Evaluating, designing and implementing innovative solutions to support our people agenda across a diverse and geographically dispersed workforce.
• Acting as a key sponsor for the enhancement and continued development of our culture (through various organisational health, and inclusion and diversity initiatives).
• Continuing to leverage and embed HR technology into our everyday practices to ensure efficient and accurate people data and decisions.
• Acting as a key contributor to the enablement of commercial objectives through effective organisational design, talent acquisition and transformational leadership decisions.

About You

Ideally you will display –

• A relevant degree or post graduate degree in Human Resources combined with demonstrated experience in senior HR leadership roles.
• Experience in animal health and/or technology industries will be advantageous and demonstrated experience working across large, matrix-style organisations is a must.
• Demonstrated experience leading a team of HR professionals and a track record of coaching, mentoring and developing talent.
• A well rounded and commercially focused HR toolkit that includes the ability to translate strategy into operational goals.
• Well-developed experience in change management and proven skills in driving major change programs in complex environments.
• Astuteness at working within a fast paced, growth-oriented organisation.
• Exceptional stakeholder management skills that include the ability to influence and challenge leaders on operational and strategic initiatives.
• A positive outlook combined with a sense of humour.
