About the Role:
This is an exciting opportunity to support and mentor brigades and groups with their financial management practices to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and CFA financial policies and procedures.

Further, detailed responsibilities include:

• Gain a comprehensive understanding of each assigned brigade’s/group’s financial activities
• Perform a formal ‘inspection and review’ of brigade/group financial activity and to report accordingly
• Contribute to the ongoing development of a brigade assurance program and conduct allocated inspections
• Facilitate and provide support to brigade financial strategies as they are developed and implemented
• Identify, resolve and/or escalate issues affecting acceptable outcomes. These issues will require documentation and analysis
• Prepare, present and consolidate financial data into financial reports

About You:
You will have excellent interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to establish and maintain excellent working relationships with a range of personnel, particularly volunteers.

To be successful in this role, you will also need to demonstrate:

• Good understanding of financial reports and accounting concepts to apply to an internal assurance program, reviewing brigade financial activity
• Experience in working to timelines and specifications with minimal disruption to key stakeholders
• Ability to meet deadlines for the delivery of defined outputs, reports and other data as appropriate
• Ability to maintain databases and experience with working with spreadsheets and accounting software packages
• Degree or equivalent tertiary qualification, particularly in finance or accounting discipline or proven experience undertaking a similar role in a large and complex organisation
