About the Role:
Are you someone who has the ability to work accurately in high pressure situations under tight timeframes with the ability to quickly identify and distil key issues?

We currently have an ongoing part time (0.8) opportunity for a Budget Analyst to support and contribute to the development, maintenance and reporting of accurate and timely forecasts, budgets and forward estimates.

You will be joining a friendly and supportive team where you will assist with the identification and management of CFA’s corporate finance risks; it also assists with the development and maintenance of CFA’s multi-year cost, funding and allocation models.

The 0.8 working week can be flexible across days to suit the successful applicant and will be a blend of working from home and working from our Burwood East Headquarters.

Your days will see you:

• Support the provision of accurate, timely and quality financial advice and analysis to align financial strategy and planning with strategic and business planning and to inform understanding of strategic financial issues and risks across the business including Key Performance Indicators
• Undertake analysis and modelling of cost, revenue and funding streams to inform strategic financial planning and decision making, including the maintenance of strategic financial history, plans, schedules and models contribute to the financial and business analysis of the Economic Review Committee (ERC) business cases
• Provide advice and relevant assistance to budget holders or Finance Business Partners on the operation of budget, Forward Estimates and forecasting
• Assist in the provision/review of responses to ad hoc queries e.g. parliamentary questions, Minister’s enquiries.
• Ensure a constructive relationship is maintained with Department of Justice and Community Safety (DJCS), Emergency Management Victoria (EMV) and Department of Treasury and Finance (DTF).
• Assist the Senior Budget Analyst to develop a balanced and sustainable Budget within an integrated, forward thinking, and modern Finance Strategy function.

About You:
It is a requirement of this role to have excellent skills in Microsoft Excel and desirable to have prior experience in the use of ERP systems such as SAP to develop multi-year forward forecast and financial models. Furthermore, your experience in finance, budgeting, accounting and business planning functions particularly in developing organisation wide multi-year budget/forward forecasts will be crucial to your success.

In addition, the person we are seeking will be flexible and have well developed skills and ability to successfully implement and respond effectively to organisational and system change.

You will be adaptable by nature and you will bring excellent written and verbal communication skills including strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills with ability to successfully engage at all levels. Further to this, you will have an outstanding attention to detail as well as the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines and strive to deliver outcomes in a high pressure environment.
