Costain Hiring for Graduate Digital Software Engineer Job at London, England Full Time

We have an exciting opportunity for a Graduate Digital Software Engineer to start from September 2023

Working with the CVB Digital team, reporting to both the BIM Manager and the Innovation Manager. Required to be part of the CVB BIM team providing support to the construction, quality, environmental and other teams on Tideway East project site offices.

Liaising directly with the project site team the Digital software engineer will be responsible for producing digital forms using Flowforma, as well as use low code to program specific apps or flows using Power Apps and Power Automate.

The candidate will be ideally a good communicator to liaise with stakeholders to understand their need and propose a practical solution to improve the existing processes to go paperless.

The candidate will be autonomous and able to have some liberty about how to organize its workload and priorities, discussing with the BIM manager.
This role will provide opportunities for the successful candidate to learn new skills and become a key figure in Costain’s future project delivery activities on Tideway East project.

About the project

River Thames is at the heart of London, but in recent years it has often been overlooked.

CVB will be delivering the East Section of a new tunnel to protect the tidal River Thames from the tens of millions of tonnes of sewage pollution discharged into it every year, via overflow points built into the capital’s overstretched, largely Victorian sewerage network. The Thames Tideway Tunnel is one of the largest construction projects of its type in Europe. Main construction work on the tunnel, which started in 2016, will take up to seven years to complete.

But it is not just an engineering project, it is about building a London that meets the needs of generations to come. More importantly, we want to reconnect London with its river.

Key responsibilities

• Developing technical solutions & automations using Power Automate, Power BI, Power Apps and FlowForma.
• Liaising with stakeholders
• Improve previous systems and document them
• Be proactive and follow up developments implemented

About You

You will require working knowledge and experience with Azure (Azure accreditations are advantageous) to demonstrate delivery within the Azure stack of technologies including

Microsoft O365 solutions

IaaS

PaaS

Azure Storage

Azure Network

Azure AD

Automation including PowerShell and Terraform/Chef/Puppet etc.

Azure DevOps toolset

Within the team there is a real enthusiasm working with new, leading edge cloud technologies along with embracing the challenge of change utilising Agile and DevOps techniques and delivery methods.
