Finance Specialist – Contractor

Job Title: Finance Specialist

Department: Accounting Reports To: Finance Manager

Purpose of Position:

Work with the Company’s Finance Department to build budgets, track the Company’s major expenses, and work with the Company’s existing bookkeepers on analyzing monthly profit and loss statements.

Major Responsibilities:

• Attend virtual calls and maintain regular correspondence with the Company’s outsourced bookkeeping team.
• Collaborate with management to gather and analyze financial information.
• Research and analyze business trends
• Aid in the monitoring of the Company’s food and paper good expenditures on a weekly basis.
• Assist in the creation of annual and monthly budgets.
• Monitor monthly financial results, make adjustments as needed, and provide meaningful explanations on variances to plan.
• Recommend solutions to reduce expenses, increase revenue, and maximize efficiency
• Track key finance related timelines such as lease renewal targets, business license expirations, and legal entity annual report due dates.
• Assist Finance team in maintaining accurate data in the financial systems.
• Participate in the process to package the Company’s financial data to establish banking relationships and to use for future investor presentations.

Skills:

• 5 years of finance experience to include profit and loss analysis
• 5 years of building monthly and annual budgets
• Knowledge of QuickBooks
• Proficient at MS Office (especially Excel)
• Must be highly organized, willing to work as a part of a team, detailed oriented, and can work professionally with others
• Ability to function independently and intuitively in a fast-paced environment.
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
• BS degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or in a related field
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to prepare and deliver clear, concise reports and presentations that are understandable by the target audience.
