Assistant Director of Meat and Seafood

Position Objective: To assist the Director of Meat and Seafood with managing the day-to-day operations of all Meat and Seafood departments. To assist in the planning and execution of products to be sold, how to merchandise them, and to monitor that our customers’ needs are met by providing FRESH, FULL and CLEAN in a friendly and professional manner, keeping cleanliness and quality control a priority. To work closely with Department Managers to achieve Cosentino’s standards and achieve goals set for the department’s budgeted sales and profit, as well as assisting in the development of the Bakery teams.

Knowledge

The following is a list of any certifications, formal education, or training requirements for this position.

Essential Knowledge

• A minimum of 5 years of Management experience in purchasing, merchandising and operations as well as extensive knowledge of Meat and Seafood processes.
• Strong Organizational, analytical and customer service abilities necessary.
• Working knowledge of computer software IE, Microsoft Suite.
• Completion of ongoing training/development to be a successful Trainer/Teacher of all aspects of Meat/Seafood Operations.

Essential Job Functions

• Responsible to monitor the day-to-day Meat and Seafood department store operations, including sales/margin/shrink performance, sales programs, under-performing stores, action plans and test programs.
• Responsible for Meat and Seafood merchandise coordination to develop, achieve annual budgets by store for sales, GP margins and ROI.
• Assure that Meat and Seafood store associates meet department standards, including training, processes, production, customer service, cleanliness, and food safety.
• Assist in the development for future leaders.
• Implementation and execution of in-store merchandising presentation of program, procedures and standards.
• Responsible for planning and organizing new store opening set-ups as well as re-sets targeted to meet objectives.
• Coordinate with District Managers and Store Directors to accomplish department goals.
• Responsible for developing and implementing new programs and offerings that are innovative and progressive to help the department and Cosentino’s differentiate itself from the competition.

Physical Abilities

The following physical movements could potentially be part of any scheduled shift and employees will be expected to perform these actions while on duty.

Essential Abilities

• Able to sit for extended periods of time in an office setting.
• Able to lift and move posters/banner material in the process of preparing for use in various promotions. In addition, may work with various Special Event teams that will include some lifting and carrying material in preparation of Special Events.
• Able to stand and walk for several hours on tile, asphalt, concrete or other hard surfaces.
• Able to perceive color differences on product and product labels.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $65,000.00 per year
