In the UK, Cortland has a six-year strategy targeting a development portfolio of 10,000 Build-to-Rent (BTR) apartments and a management portfolio of 75,000 units, primarily the London commuter belt areas, UK regional cities, and Dublin. Currently, we have three developments under construction, one in Birmingham, one in Manchester, and one opening in Watford this summer, with two more in the pipeline, including Leeds and a second phase in Watford.

Role Overview

As a Talent Acquisition Consultant, you partner with hiring managers to anticipate and meet our evolving workforce needs and introduce the most qualified talent into the organization. Here are the roles you’ll play:

The Talent Scout

· Meet with hiring managers to forecast their staffing needs and gain a clear understanding of their matching qualifications

· Scour online professional networks, comb through résumés, and conduct prescreening phone interviews

· Identify the best of the best — people who live our values and model our brand — to fill open positions within a variety of departments

The Connector

· Connect hiring managers with the most qualified applicants while maintaining wonderful relationships with all parties involved

· Help narrow down the interview candidates, coordinate the interview, hand off necessary paperwork, and partner with HR to initiate offer letters and due diligence

· Give candidates the information they need when they need it until they are so wowed by the experience they can’t wait to accept the job

· Introduce new hires into the Cortland fold, creating a smooth transition that’s comfortable for all

The Ambassador

· Act like a walking advertisement for the Cortland brand, bragging about all the benefits we have to offer, including our incentive and relocation assistance programs

· Attend career fairs and networking events to target potential new hires and excite them about working for Cortland

· Seek out marketing and advertising programs that will grow our online presence and ensure that our job postings reach the best candidates possible

Your Building Blocks of Success

· Stellar record of 2+ years experience in high-volume recruiting or sourcing; demonstrated knowledge of relevant employment laws

· Extraordinary customer service and interpersonal skills

· Ability to effectively and charismatically communicate with a diverse array of people

· High attention to detail and strong organizational skills

· Quick, resourceful problem-solving in a dynamic environment

· Proficient in Microsoft Office and HRIS software
