CGS is currently seeking an experienced Materials Coordinator to join our operations team for an upcoming equipment maintenance and preservation project in the Jacinto Port and Free Trade Zone area, Houston. The project will commence in July 2023 and is estimated for 12-18 months in duration. This position will be full time working 40 hours per week Monday through Friday.

Your day-to-day tasks include:

• Support the receipt, storage, distribution and issuance of equipment and materials at project warehouse and lay down areas.
• Engage in daily receiving, warehousing & shipping operations and communicate problems.
• Responsible for verifying all materials that have been received.
• Provide support in the coordination of shipments working with 3rd party supplier for truckloads, containers and shipment planning working in shipping warehouse.
• Support in auditing of receiving receipts for inventory accuracy as necessary.
• Provide source data and support in the preparation of daily, weekly, and monthly s
• Support the coordination of transporting, stacking and shipping activities.
• Works with suppliers to resolve any issues through transit, delivery, receipt and return
• Daily sign off of delivery tickets
• Performs assigned cycle counts on the date assigned, verifies item being counted is the correct item, quantity counted is accurate, and notifies Supervisor, Material Control, or other designated client representative, if an issue arises during the count.
• Ensures inventory items are delivered and stored in appropriate locations and that all appropriate inventory systems and documentation is maintained
• Collect and maintain all sensitive data information and prepare appropriate project schedule.
• Collect and maintain all information for status of materials on weekly basis.

Successful candidates will have:

• Previous experiences within materials control, supply chain, logistics
• Previous experience working in operational facilities, fabrication yards, and/or construction projects
• An intermediate competency using computers and Microsoft Office suite
• High School diploma
• Knowledge of Material Control practices and internal control objectives
• Good oral and written communication skills
• Ability to enter data through a PC into a materials control system
• Strong commitment to safety
• Be able to successfully complete criminal background check, drug and alcohol screen
• Must be able to acquire Transportation Worker Identification Credentials (TWIC)
• Hold a valid driver’s license
