ABOUT THE ROLE.

This role will ensure the timely, efficient, and accurate processing of Accounts Payable transactions within agreed trading terms; and monitoring of adherence to Group & Finance policies in relation to those transactions.

The role requires excellent time management and communication skills, a strong eye for detail and the ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision. The role supports the processing of large volumes of transactions, actively reviews, suggests, and implements improvements to existing processes whilst working with operational teams across the business. Meeting monthly deadlines is of upmost importance to ensure the Finance Department is achieving its operational and strategic goals and ensuring all payments are made in accordance with policies and procedures.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES.

• Processing a high volume of AP transactions utilising automated processes, accurately and efficiently
• Process payments in accordance with suppliers’ payment terms and maintain the supporting reconciliations (Domestic & International payments)
• Weekly reconciliation of Supplier Statements
• Processing of Agency Debit Memo’s and Refunds
• Manage Payments email inbox, answer phone enquiries and resolve payment discrepancies in a timely manner
• Ensure creditor terms and account details are maintained in the system
• Ensure all AP end of month processes are completed within set timeframes
• Regular review, reporting and follow up of outstanding creditor ledgers, including ageing.
• Deliver a high standard of communication and customer service to internal and external customers and colleagues
• Challenge the current processes and look for continuous improvement opportunities
• Ensure company policies and procedures are always maintained
• Ad hoc tasks, projects, and support as required for the Finance Team

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE.

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role with the ability to process high volumes of transactions in a timely and accurate manner
• A sound knowledge and understanding of accounting principles including GST
• Thorough, accurate, with strong attention to detail and numeracy skills
• Intermediate level experience in the Microsoft Office Suite, internet, and email systems, with particular emphasis on Excel
• Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills to positively engage and build successful working partnerships with staff, and suppliers.
• Team player, with a strong work ethic -dependable, timely and punctual
• Self-motivated, well organised, with good time management skills and the ability to work independently
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Enthusiasm for delivering exceptional service
• A relevant Certificate/Diploma/Degree (or studying towards) would be advantageous however not essential
• A knowledge of the travel industry is desirable, including experience with Tramada or a similar travel accounting package
