Cornwall Insight Hiring for Finance Ledger Supervisor Job at Norwich, England Full Time

Cornwall Insight specialises in research, analysis, consulting, and training in the energy markets, and we are seeking a Finance Ledger Supervisor to join our growing finance team.

The position:

Reporting into the Financial Controller, the Finance Ledger Supervisor is key to ensuring the accounting function has an excellent foundation and requires meticulous attention to detail. You will have strong organisational & interpersonal skills and the ability to think on your feet, solving problems as they come to you and work together and communicate with the rest of your team.
Key Responsibilities

• Management of all aspects of accounts payable tasks
• Ensure all invoices are correctly authorised, allocated to the correct cost centre and accurately processed
• Maintain purchase orders, ensure invoices are correctly matched & un-utilised PO’s are cancelled
• Responsibility for account maintenance; new account set up, regular statement reconciliations & ensuring integrity of both sales and purchase ledgers is maintained
• Perform credit control tasks such as chasing payments and cash collection
• First contact for all supplier queries
• Monitor fund availability to facilitate supplier payment runs
• Creation of BACS files & bank uploads
• Management of utility billing and tracking of meters
• Monitor & reconcile company bank accounts
• Post & match receipts & expenditure on appropriate ledgers
• Raise payments & inter account transfers on the online banking system
• Ad-hoc raising of sales invoices for internal recharges
• Daily monitoring of incoming emails
• First point of call for all queries
• Create, update & document processes

Skills Knowledge and Expertise

• Experience in a finance role for a fast-growing SME
• Ability to prioritise own workload whilst supporting your team
• Strong organisational skills
• Meticulous attention to detail
• Team player with the initiative & ability to work alone
• Problem solver with dedication to providing excellent service
• Confident & effective written, verbal & telephone communication
• Good systems experience & Excel knowledge
• AAT Qualification/working towards
• SAGE experience (desirable but not essential)
