Corning Credit Union is seeking a Software Engineer to join its growing Development team.

The Software Engineer is primarily responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining custom software systems that effectively support Corning Credit Union’s diverse business objectives. This includes:

• Executing the full software development life cycle, while adhering to Agile best practices.
• Developing flowcharts, layouts and documentation to identify system requirements and effective solutions.
• Writing well-designed, testable code.
• Producing specifications and determining operational feasibility of various programs and processes.
• Effectively integrating software components into a fully functional software system.
• Developing software verification plans and quality assurance procedures.
• Troubleshooting, debugging, and upgrading existing systems.
• Complying with project plans, organizational requirements, and various industry standards.
• Using effective communication skills to report on the progress of projects to all stakeholders and developing functional plans to overcome obstacles, as appropriate.

• Solid knowledge of relational databases, SQL and ORM technologies (EF, Hibernate).
• Skilled at developing web applications using popular web frameworks (MS MVC, JQuery).
• Experience working with test-driven development.

Education & Experience Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technical discipline required.
• 4-5 years of hands-on experience with software development required. This may include professional experience or extensive internships and certified projects or coursework.
