Corium, Inc Hiring for Associate Director, Ethics and Compliance at Remote Full Time

The Associate Director, Ethics and Compliance, will be a key member of the Legal, Regulatory & Compliance team and integral to the growth of Corium while it helps patients and caregivers turn life into living. This role is a unique opportunity to further develop and advance an established healthcare compliance program while also getting exposure to and experience supporting other needs within the legal and compliance functions of the Legal, Regulatory and Compliance team. This position is open to remote-based candidates located in the United States, preferably in the Eastern and Central Time Zones. Special preference will be given to candidates located in the Boston, MA area where our headquarters are located.

The Associate Director, Ethics and Compliance, will partner with the Associate General Counsel, Chief Legal and Compliance Officer, and Corium’s functions and teams to facilitate further development and advancement of the healthcare compliance program through continuous improvement. In this capacity, the Associate Director, Ethics and Compliance, will use leadership, influence, and strategic thinking to refine the healthcare compliance program, develop and execute strategies for healthcare compliance program goals, foster continued support for Corium’s healthcare compliance program, and maintain Corium’s ethical culture. This position will interact with and advise all levels of the organization, including the President and Chief Executive Officer, members of the Leadership Team, Commercial and Medical Leadership, and all functions within the company.

Summary of Responsibilities

• Through leadership, advance, execute, and grow the healthcare compliance program.
• Partner with all levels of the company, including the President and CEO, the Leadership Team, and key business functions to provide moderate to complex ethics and compliance advice and guidance, including functional policy interpretation.
• Provide strategic guidance and input on proposed business strategies and programs, identifies moderate to complex legal and regulatory issues, analyzes alternatives, and works with Legal and other functions, as appropriate, to propose solutions to the business.
• Develop and conduct healthcare compliance risk assessments and trend analysis, analyzes results, and provides recommendations for enhancements to the healthcare compliance program.
• Conduct moderate to complex policy and procedure reviews and updates related to healthcare compliance policies and functional procedures ensuring clarity, applicability, and compliance.
• Develop, implements, modify, and assist with functional monitoring plans and any corrective actions to ensure compliance with healthcare compliance policies and procedures.
• Evaluate and assess commercial and medical affairs activities with respect to current laws, regulations, enforcement environment, and best practices related to the development, marketing, and sale of pharmaceutical products.
• Develop, deliver, and update Corium’s comprehensive healthcare compliance training.
• Maintain awareness of the current compliance environment and informs functions and business leaders as needed.
• Assist with developing, implementing, and improving processes and systems to increase the efficiency of the legal and compliance department, including technological solutions.
• Manage outside consultants.
• Lead interaction with external auditors and manage audit process preparation.
• Lead operational aspects of healthcare compliance program, including documentation and tracking of HCP contracting/transfers of value; computer-based learning management system, and monitoring of certain business activities to help ensure compliance.
• Support the organization in maintaining a work environment focused on quality and that fosters learning, respect, open communication, collaboration, integration, and teamwork.

Required Education, Licenses, or Certifications

• BA or BS required; CCEP and/or JD preferred.

Required Experience

• Minimum five years’ compliance experience in the biopharmaceutical or medical device industry, including experience with building or advancing healthcare compliance programs and working with business teams to achieve business objectives.
• Builds strong relationships with peers and cross-functionally with partners outside of team to enable higher performance.
