Cooper Electrical Construction Co Hiring for Payroll Administrator Job at Greensboro, NC Full Time

Job Summary

The Payroll Administrator position is responsible for the entire organization’s payroll and benefits administration. This includes maintaining all administrative activities related to payroll, processing payroll on a regular basis. This position reports to the Accounting Director.

Essential Functions

• Prepare and process weekly and biweekly payroll for organization; review and ensure accuracy of approved timesheets; track and deduct all garnishment and other special payroll deductions.
• Prepare reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages.
• Maintain employee records; ensure that employee changes are entered correctly and made on a timely basis; review changes for proper authorization and adherence to Cooper policy, including compliance with federal/state/local regulations.
• Evaluate and audit PTO accruals; work with site Superintendents to ensure accuracy of employee balances.
• Report payroll liabilities by calculating employee federal and state income and social security taxes and employer’s social security, unemployment, and worker’s compensation payments.
• Provide payroll information by answering questions and requests.
• Maintain employee confidence and protect payroll operations by keeping information confidential.
• Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience

• Associate degree or higher in business-related field required; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of payroll in a multi-state environment.
• Customer services mindset with a drive to establish and continuously improve processes to ensure efficiency
• Detail-oriented and dependability is of utmost importance.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
• Ability to be resourceful
• Proficient with Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
