Conway Medical Center Hiring for Director of Patient Accounting Job at Conway, SC Full Time

Position Summary:
The Director of Patient Accounting (D-PA) directs all activities related to analyzing and designing strategies for efficient patient access to services offered in order to optimize revenue and manage patient accounts. The Director is responsible for strategic development, compliant operations and operational deployment for all patient financial services activities performed in the areas of patient accounts. Recommends and supports ongoing process improvement activities and policy development within the departments and organization. The Director’s goal is to provide high quality, customer focused and cost-effective services with the primary objective of maximizing cash flow.
Performs ongoing analyses and monitoring of selected key performance metrics, performance of programs or payers to help set future direction and relationships with payers. Coordinates these analyses to address revenue generation and reimbursement issues from within the charging departments and managed care payers. The D-PA monitors interaction in Patient Accounting at the hospital to ensure efficient and accurate capture of patient data. Provides ongoing feedback to upstream operations of issues affecting efficiency and prompt reimbursement. The D-PA monitors aged accounts receivable balances and implements procedures as necessary to maintain good cash flow. Actively monitors credit balances and ensures timely resolution and/or refunds as appropriate to the patient and/or payer. Additionally, the D-PA works closely with the Health Information Management department to ensure and maintain an efficient flow of information to ensure timely and accurate coding and billing.

Qualifications

Assessment of overall credit worthiness by review of a consumer credit report is required.

Education:

• Bachelors (BSN) in Accounting, Finance or other closely related field required.
• Masters (MSN) degree preferred.

Experience:

• A minimum of ten (10) years healthcare patient accounting management experience required.
• Previous Leadership experience in accounting field preferred.

Physical Requirements:

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Ability to hear to process instructions and safety code and alarms required. Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $85,883.00 – $137,220.00 per year
