Contractors Supply, Inc Hiring for Accounting Assistant Job at Riverside, RI Full Time

Contractors Supply is looking for an Accounting Assistant to perform daily accounting tasks that will support our financial team. Accounting Assistant responsibilities include managing expense reports and reimbursements, entering financial transactions into our internal databases, reconciling invoice and assisting with the day-to-day accounting functions.

Job Responsibilities:

• Ensure that receivables are collected promptly
• Reconciliation and preparation of bank deposit for daily sales
• Assist in the daily reconciliation of bank accounts
• Post, verify, and record customer payments and transactions related to accounts receivable
• Maintain and update customer contact information, company files and records.
• Maintain accounts receivable aging report
• Perform collections on receivables as needed
• Research customer discrepancies and past-due amounts as needed or requested
• Communicate politely and effectively to all customers and colleagues via phone and email
• Process all approved customer discounts/rebates
• Work together with customer AP departments to collect balances owed in a timely manner
• Assist Office Manager and CFO as needed
• Assist with accounts payable and inventory as needed
• Gain an understanding of basic operating policies and procedures and implement in daily tasks
• Maintain an orderly accounting filing system
• Provide clerical and administrative support to office as requested
• Answer and direct incoming calls as needed
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Job Requirements:

• Experience using ERP systems
• Intermediate level Excel user (i.e., pivot tables, Vlookups)
• Must be able to multi-task (position can be fast paced at times)
• Strong attention to detail to produce accurate, consistent work
• Ability to work cohesively with outside departments such as Sales and Logistics
• Minimum of 1 year of as an accounting assistant

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 – $25.00 per hour
