In collaboration with Santos, Chandler Macleod is currently seeking an experienced Senior Financial Analyst for a 12 month contract based in Brisbane.

About the Role

The primary objective of the Senior Financial Analyst is to provide operational financial information and analysis to the Onshore Production Operations Leadership Team operating the Queensland Coal Seam Gas Cooper Basin assets.

Reporting to the Financial Controller Production Operations you will work with the other members of the team to ensure that the provision of operational financial information and analysis for all operational areas, ensuring analysis for all areas provides a clear understanding of business financial performance; financial budgets and forecasts are aligned with planned activity; financial impacts of key business decisions and the impacts of individual cost drivers.

Core accountabilities for the role of Senior Financial Analyst include though are not limited to:

• Lead projects focused on improvement to decision making processes and systems Provide business partnering and decision making support to Departmental Managers and Superintendents
• Provide key stakeholders with reporting, analysis, insight and commentary in relation to business performance, including variance against targets, trends, key business drivers and metrics
• Prepare budgets, quarterly forecasts, and latest estimates for areas supported
• Month-end accounting including preparation of journals, review of results and completion of appropriate integrity checks prior to ledger close
• Provide support to responses to audit queries
• Contribute to half-year and year-end reporting requirements to Group Finance
• Provide ad-hoc analysis to support decision making to Production Operations Management as required
• Key stakeholders: Departmental Managers, Superintendents, Financial Controllers, Finance Manager, Financial Services

About You

To be successful in this role it is essential that you hold a minimum Degree in Accounting, commerce with CPA/CA designation.

You will have a solid base knowledge and your experience in similar roles will ensure you transition into this senior level FA role with ease. Your expertise with SAP will ensure that you are able to contribute to the building of effective process and integration of systems and possibly take lead on this process of Master Data Analysis.
