We are seeking a highly detail-oriented Project Coordinator with a strong technical foundation in drawings, specifications, and trade coordination to support the successful delivery of interior construction projects.

This position is to be filled immediately.

Role Summary

This is a hands-on, execution-focused role requiring frequent travel between the office and active job sites across the GTA and Southern Ontario.

The Project Coordinator will work directly with a Site Supervisor where required—but on many projects, will be expected to independently take on the responsibilities of a Project Manager and/or Site Supervisor, managing projects from start to finish.

This is a high-ownership role in a lean team environment, suited for someone who is comfortable single-handedly managing smaller, complex interior buildout projects with tight timelines and budgets.

This position is best suited for someone who:

• Has experience delivering small to mid-sized, highly detailed interior projects
• Is comfortable acting as the primary point of responsibility on a project
• Thrives in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments
• Can operate effectively without large support teams

Candidates whose experience is primarily limited to large, multi-year base-build projects with extensive support staff may find this role misaligned.

Key ResponsibilitiesProject Ownership & Execution

• Take full ownership of assigned projects, from pre-construction through closeout
• Act as the primary point of contact for trades, consultants, and internal teams
• On smaller projects, function as the acting Project Manager and/or Site Supervisor
• Ensure alignment between field execution, contract documents, budget, and schedule

Drawings, Specifications & Technical Review

• Conduct detailed reviews of drawings and specifications
• Identify scope gaps, discrepancies, and constructability issues early
• Coordinate across all disciplines (architectural, mechanical, electrical, structural)

Shop Drawings & Submittal Management

• Manage all RFIs, submittals, and shop drawings end-to-end
• Maintain detailed tracking logs and enforce timelines
• Review submissions for compliance and technical accuracy

Trade Coordination & Sequencing

• Develop and manage trade sequencing in tight interior environments
• Coordinate multiple trades and resolve conflicts proactively
• Work closely with field operations to ensure efficient execution

Schedule & Procurement

• Develop and maintain detailed project schedules
• Coordinate procurement and track long-lead items
• Align shop drawings, materials, and site activities with schedule milestones

Contract Administration & Documentation

• Maintain organized document control systems
• Manage project correspondence and reporting
• Lead project closeout including deficiencies, O&M manuals, and warranties

Budget & Cost Awareness

• Monitor project costs and support budget control
• Identify scope gaps and potential change risks early
• Assist with pricing reviews and change management

Quality & Field Coordination

• Ensure work aligns with drawings and specifications
• Provide on-site coordination and support as required
• Participate in inspections and maintain quality standards

Required Experience

• 5–10+ years in commercial construction (Project Coordinator / Project Engineer / Junior PM or similar)
• Strong experience with interior construction / tenant improvement projects
• Proven ability to manage projects independently or in lean teams
• Experience handling tight timelines and budget-sensitive projects
• Strong experience with shop drawings, submittals, and RFIs
• Ability to interpret complex drawings and specifications
• Solid understanding of trade sequencing

Additional Requirements

• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to travel frequently between job sites and office
• Comfortable working in both office and active construction site environments
• Proficient with project management and document control software
• Strong organizational and time management skills
