What You’ll Do

The Senior Information Security Specialist provides an advanced level of knowledge to the CNS Pantex Classification Office concerning Unclassified Controlled Nuclear Information (UCNI), Official Use Only (OUO) Information, and National Security Information and Restricted/Formerly Restricted Data programs. This position requires an ability to implement and manage Federal Regulations, statutes, and DOE orders pertaining to the identification and protection of both classified and controlled unclassified information at the CNS Pantex National Security Complex (NSC). The Senior Information Security Specialist is expected to make cognizant decisions on information that is being identified and protected in accordance with published guidance, DOE Orders and Federal Regulations.

Minimum Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree: Minimum 4 years of relevant experience.
  • Master’s degree: Minimum 3 years of relevant experience.
  • PhD. No experience.
  • More than 12 years of relevant education, training, and/or progressive relevant experience will be reviewed and considered for equivalency to these requirements.

Preferred Job Requirements

It is preferred that the candidate be a DOE certified Derivate Classifier/Reviewing Official (DC/RO) but not mandatory. Candidate must also be able to complete the DOE Office of Classification General Overview Classification Course.

Bachelor of Science degree in engineering or related technical discipline and 5-8 years’ experience in nuclear facility operations with weapons production experience is preferred.

Requires a Q clearance; however all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status. The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy Q clearance is required.
Position may require entry into Materials Access Areas (MAA) and participation in the Human Reliability Program (HRP). If HRP is required, candidate must complete a counterintelligence-scope polygraph, pursuant to 10CFR 709. Medical requirements may apply.
