EMMA Comprehensive Neighborhood Plan, through stakeholder partnerships, across four pillars: Mixed-
Income Housing, Cradle-to-Career Education, Community Health and Wellness, Workforce and Economic

General Description
Each Project Manager provides the leadership and management for one of the four pillars. The Education
Project Manager serves as the primary staff person responsible to advance the work in the education pillar, removing systemic barriers, and achieving outcomes. Ideal candidates will be well-organized and energetic, will function well as an integral part of a team, but also be able to work with a great deal of independence.
They will have relevant experience in education, leadership, and management fields. They will also have a firm sense of mission and desire to work with residents, parents, district and school leadership, neighborhood associations, coalitions, and other nonprofits to contribute towards a healthy, viable, and sustainable community.
Essential Responsibilities
Among the essential responsibilities of the Education Project Manager is fostering strong relationships with leaders in education to actualize the creation of a neighborhood educational feeder pattern. The Education
Project Manager (EPM) builds a working relationship with the leadership of School #33 and East High
School. Serves as a liaison between the community and the schools, works collaboratively with the
Community School Site Coordinator at both schools, and recruits, trains, and manages volunteers for education pillar projects and initiatives. Additionally, the EPM serves as a member of the Community
Engagement Team at School #33 and the Family and Community Engagement (FACE) team at East High
School. They work collaboratively with the Parent Coordinator, home School Liaison, PTA Leadership, and
Community Partners at both schools; assisting with parent and family engagement activities as well as student recruitment activities. The EPM oversees and directs the education committee in the development of strategic goals, action planning, and measurable outcomes; builds, manages, and sustains productive relationships with committee members, and recruits appropriate committee members (residents and content experts). Establishes and/or maintains effective working relationships with key partners, including applicable federal, state, regional, and local entities, in order to maximize the alignment toward pillar goals.
Manages efficient day-to-day program operations. Develops, prepares, and submits reports as assigned, and assists in grant preparation, reporting, and presentations as needed. The EPM represents Connected
Communities in various settings and is an advocate for quality neighborhood educational opportunities.
