The group is a global market & technology leader in organic sulfur chemical materials. Key markets are in personal and home care as well as in a variety of B2B applications in the chemical, plastics, coating, adhesives and electronics industry. Parent company is constantly strongly investing in new products, production capabilities and target industries, to further develop the well-established and profitable business. Position title: Controller

Responsibilities

Responsibility for all Finance, Controlling and Accounting matters in company

Direct leadership responsibility for currently one professional, with the expectation to grow the team.

Main contact person for external partners and the authorities.

Annual and other relevant closings in US GAAP.

Filing of relevant statements and declarations for operations.

Contribute business & financial data to the group closing.

Design and further development of controlling methods.

Work with SAP R/3, contribute to the implementation of SAP S/4HANA, modern controlling tools, SAC or Power BI.

Business partner for the management team of Corporate Group in the transformation to a Specialty Chemical business, monitor the progress and in establishing seamless groupwide processes.

Run & own major projects, like for the upcoming investments into the Plant from a financial perspective or in rentability plans for new innovations for the market.

Develop the current KPI structure together with Group Controlling.

Position reports to Family Owners, CFO of Parent Company and Managing Director

Periodic travel to company plant in Upstate NY

Candidate Profile:

Bachelors or Masters’ Degree in Accounting from accredited college.

CPA preferred.

7 + years of experience.

Strong background with manufacturing / distribution preferred.

Multiple years of consistent practical experience as a controller in similar size company

Responsibility for annual closings, reporting, accounting, tax, human resources.

Proficiency with tax filings, quarterly estimates for entity and individual returns

Experience in other functions is a plus, especially in process management and improvement, in strategic business development or investment planning.

Company background of international, SME industrial companies .

Business acumen to be a business partner for the leadership team.

Language skills in German or Chinese are an advantage.

High level of attention to detail and accuracy while keeping a big picture focus

Pay: $150,000.00 – $170,000.00 per year
