HEALTH & SAFETY COORDINATOR

JOB START: August 2023

JOB LOCATION: Calgary, Alberta

PURPOSE: This position administers the health & safety management systems and provides administrative support to the health and safety department and the organization on health & safety matters.

S TO: Corporate Health & Safety Manager

RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Maintain confidential employee occupational health and safety and safety training records.

· Administer WCB accounts, track rates and clearance letters.

· Coordinate WCB claims, including Return to Work Plans, Modified Work Agreements and arranging for treatment through Alberta Occupational Injury Service Program.

· Maintain AMVIR agreement requirements and obtain confidential driver records from provincial registries.

· Compile safety statistics and generate various s.

· Prepare and distribute minutes of safety committee meetings.

· Maintain information on HSE Registries (Avetta, ISNetworld, Proteus).

· Provide support to the organization on safety systems.

· Ensure Safety Data Sheets are up to date.

· Maintain and document changes to the safety manuals.

· Coordinate and prepare prequalification requests and requirements (COI, WCB) from vendors and third party services.

§ Prepare presentations for monthly safety meetings.

§ Administer personal protective equipment program.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

· 5 years of experience in a health & safety related position.

· Experience dealing with the WCB and occupational health service providers.

· Knowledge of applicable OHS regulations and legislation.

· Ability to work with personal, sensitive and/or confidential information.

· Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills.

· Strong communication skills (oral & written) and ability to deal with employees of all levels.
