Houston, Texas area company is looking to pilot a program that provides private education as a benefit for select employees. The successful candidate will deliver age-appropriate subjects in a learning environment fostering critical thinking and academic self-discipline. The candidate will be teaching up to five students initially, grade levels K through 12. The teacher will establish measurable short and long-term targets for learning, monitor progress towards them, and maintain comprehensive records of progress and attainment for easy assessment of progress.

Responsibilities

• Teach all subjects in a broad-based curriculum covering K-12
• Responsible for implementing a suitable timetable and for planning all lessons
• Develop well-designed lesson plans and instruction combined with curriculum activities and instructional objectives that are TEKS standards-based, measurable, and accelerate the transfer of learning and knowledge
• Guide the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and establish clear objectives for all lessons and projects
• Utilize a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media consistent with the physical limitations of the location provided, and the needs and capabilities of participating students
• Provide a learning environment that is responsive to the student’s best learning style; maintaining structure and routines that will develop the student’s study skills and academic self-discipline
• Set identifiable short and long-term learning targets
• Assess and document student mastery of curriculum objectives and growth by utilizing appropriate, ongoing, and multiple assessment tools regularly to provide monthly progress reports

Requirements

• 10+ years of professional teaching experience
• Valid Texas teacher certificate OR have completed an approved Alternative Certificate Program (ACP)
• Experience teaching K-12 curriculum
• The candidate must be based in the greater Houston, Texas area
• In-office work environment; typical schedule of Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
• Must have the right to live and work in the USA
• The teacher will be responsible for planning and managing the provision of teaching resources required, with all expenses to be borne by the company
• Able to deliver an excellent education within an engaging and nurturing environment
• Strong communicator – able to tailor your communication style to varied audiences
• Bilingual fluency is beneficial, and dual-language instruction is preferred
• Adaptability – role may grow to support additional children of company employees

Compensation

• $100,000 – $120,000 annual salary, commensurate with experience
• Eligible for medical, dental, and vision insurance
• 15 days of paid time off per year
• 401K
