POSITION SUMMARY: Perform purchasing activities of assigned commodities, parts, services, or supplies in accordance with production scheduling demand, cost goals, and quality guidelines.
Essential Responsibilities:
· Analyze, coordinate, and maintain purchase requirements through ERP system Made2Manage (M2M) to meet customer requirements;
· Regularly monitor open purchase orders to ensure vendor confirmations are being handled appropriately;
· Evaluate current suppliers for the price, quality, and delivery of assigned items;
· Meet with suppliers and to visit suppliers for business negotiations, evaluation, and/or quality concerns;
· Manage supplier quality with vendors to include returns, non-conformances, corrective actions, and other issues;
· Work with Quality personal to address supplier quality concerns/issues;
· Assist with Requests for Quotes (RFQ);
· Work with accounting to address invoice issues and price discrepancies;
· Procurement with International suppliers;
· Develop and amend work procedures, instructions, or standard operating procedures as needed;
· Review & allocate workload based on requisition count and work-in-progress activity with moderate supervision;
· Adhere to Employee’s responsibilities outlined in Cygnus’ Health & Safety Policy.
· Other responsibilities and assigned by Management;
Additional Skills & Responsibilities:
· 5 years of Purchasing/Buying experience in a manufacturing environment required;
· Previous experience in Medical and Aerospace industries preferred;
· Knowledge of Supply Chain process to include inventory management, receiving & logistical procedures required;
· Basic knowledge of blueprint review and material specifications preferred;
· Experience with KANBAN/JIT material flow systems preferred;
· Knowledge of Microsoft software (i.e. Excel, Word, Powerpoint) required;
· Excellent verbal and written communications skills required;
· Great organizational skills with a keen sense of urgency;
· May be required to work additional hours as dictated by on-time delivery requirements;
· Ability to work in a manufacturing shop environment (including hot, cold, and/or noisy areas);
· Frequent hand-to-finger, handle, feel objects & tools, walking, sitting, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, talking, and hearing;
· Physically submit to periodic drug tests (employment is contingent upon favorable results)
