Overview:
The Finance Manager is responsible for all financial aspects of thriving nonprofit health care organization. Position reports to the CEO and is an integral part of the Management Team.
Position Duties and Responsibilities:
· Develop financial strategy for the company by analyzing the current performance and systems for billing and collections, and financial reporting procedures.
· Achieves financial objectives by steering organization’s financial initiatives, strategic plans and reviews; preparing
action plans regarding productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; coordinating annual financial audit; and advising regarding related system improvements.
· Manage company’s revenue cycle and billing reconciliation processes, including: supervising submission of claims; dealing with posted payments; managing claims denials; performing regular internal billing audits to ensure both yield & accuracy; and generating monthly internal billing summary reports for the CEO.
· Manage accounting financial activities, consistent with GAAP, including: general ledger preparation, preparing an annual budget, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions.
· Participates with Independent Auditor to ensure timely year-end audit and annual Form 990 filing.
· Responsible for biweekly payroll for all employees using multiple CRMs and internal systems, including: Generations; Quickbooks; and company’s proprietary Access Database.
· Manage all Financial/Accounting Department personnel, setting goals and targets for team members and supervising their achievement of those goals.
· Guides accounting staff and other departments by researching and interpreting accounting practices and policies and applying observations and recommendations to ensure compliance.
· Generate grant fund expenditure reports.
· Prepare comprehensive quarterly financial reports for Board meetings and as otherwise required.
· Assist in completion of regular compliance audits, including but not limited to: workers’ compensation, 401K and company health plan.
· Ensure compliance with all governmental/programmatic requirements, staying current with changes in relevant program policies and regulations.
· Works collaboratively with CEO to achieve departmental objectives and overall company goals, conducting forecasting analysis and regularly presenting results to CEO.
· Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations.
· Accomplishes accounting and organization mission by achieving related results as needed.(s) a plus.
Position Qualifications:
· BS/BA in Accounting, Finance or other relevant field; MS/MA preferred.
· A minimum of three (3) years experience in accounting and payroll administration, preferably in healthcare setting.
· A minimum of two (2) years in an accounting/finance management role.
· Exceptional leadership abilities – proven experience in providing oversight of financial operations.
· Strong knowledge of accounting processes associated with GAAP and audit requirements.
· Strong technical proficiency, including: Microsoft Office Suite (with an emphasis on Excel & Access); Quickbooks; and ADP Payroll System.
· Strong budgeting, financial forecasting and financial analysis skills required.
· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
· CPA and/or other relevant qualification(s) a plus.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00 – $78,000.00 per year
