Well established food production and distribution company for the U.S. retail market is looking for a resourceful Finance Analyst with experience in Grower Accounting.

Job Overview:

The Grower Accountant is responsible for the management of the overall financial accuracy of the general ledger related to Grower operations. He/she manages the daily inventory accounting function and will work closely with the directors and other managers in the Accounting Department to prepare accurate financial statements, grower statements and crop costing reports that meet compliance requirements and prepare the Company for growth.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• The Grower Accountant is responsible for managing the internal systems according to GAAP, grower payables and crop accounting using SAP accounting software. This position will be expected to exhibit the highest professional standards, ethical principles, and attention to detail while working on numerous routine and ad hoc tax support functions.
• Ensures financial information for our grower clients is prepared in a timely and accurate fashion.
• Supports and implements Accounting & Finance objectives, while constantly working towards improving processes and procedures.
• Administers all accounting related to grower clients. Processes and prepares accurate operational financial information for grower clients within predetermined deadlines.
• Management of Grower Accounting and Lot Accounting Reports including handling of all A/P communications with vendors/growers.
• Provides operational accounting support to internal departments, customers and grower clients relating to produce business units. Investigates and resolves related problems in a timely manner.
• Oversee and contribute to the preparation of all inventories related information for financial statements and all other reports required by management.
• Analyze financial information of all farms (e.g., analysis of revenues, expenses, and yields) including forecasting, industry, and economic conditions of trends and production analysis for all commodities.
• Works as part of a team to complete all weekly and monthly accounting entries as they relate to the business units.

Qualifications:

Required:

• 4-year College Degree (Accounting) from an accredited institution.
• At least 3 years of prior experience in a similar role.
• Experience in fresh produce/ agriculture is strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs (i.e., Word, Excel, and Outlook). SAP experience will be a plus.
• 5+ years of proven and successful experience in an accounting work environment, specifically with account reconciliation, analysis, accounts payable and general ledger transactions Knowledge of accounting updates.
• Good analytical and organizational skills.
