The Leadership team oversees day-to-day operations ensuring the student’s safety and well being as well as supporting our community and academia.

Program Oversight:

• Provide leadership and vision for the school to assure program quality, kindergarten readiness, and student success.
• Oversee all aspects of the program, including extracurricular activities, student assessments, and program goals.
• Ensure an environment that is physically and emotionally safe for children.
• Foster an atmosphere of positive communication and partnership with parents/guardians, including responding promptly and courteously to concerns and/or complaints.
• Promote a system of regular communications with parents/guardians, including but not limited to formal/informal meetings on student progress, enrollment status, event schedule, school calendar.
• Ensure the preschool provides inclusive, developmentally, and culturally appropriate learning experiences and activities.
• Helping maintain and cultivate our curriculum.

Supervision:

• Recruit, hire, train, and provide ongoing direct supervision for all preschool teaching staff.
• Conduct monthly meetings and annual performance evaluations for staff.
• Coordinate professional development on topics such as child development, compliance, licensing, and other relevant areas.

Administration:

• Serve as the primary point person for the Florida Department of Children & Families (DCF).
• Ensure compliance with licensing and all contracts including reporting, maintenance of student records and evaluation, attendance, and parent meetings.
• Ensure adherence to the safety and sanitation of the school facilities in accordance with the requirements of DCF and Department of Education.
• In collaboration with the executive director maintain waiting lists, conduct tours, and register children.
• Attend collaborative meetings, state-run training, and related career development opportunities.

• Perform tasks and responsibilities in a complete and timely manner, complying with Florida DCF and Dept of Education.
• Maintain a creative, team-building approach to job performance and seek to bring a constructive, problem-solving orientation to all tasks.

• Exercise professional judgment and discretion at all times.
• Promote the care and welfare of the children served.

Desired skills and experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education(preferred), Primary Education, or in related field
• 3-5 years of Director experience in a licensed child care facility
• Strong background in state licensing regulations, staffing, enrollment and budget management
• Demonstrated highly-effective organizational, time management, and multitasking skills
• Demonstrated responsibilities in overseeing all preschool operations including human resources, quality assurance and facility operations
• A proven track record in hiring, developing and retaining staff
• Strong commitment to building positive relationships with families and the community
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and basic social media knowledge
