Administrator (Nursing Home Facility)
Skilled Nursing Home is seeking for an Administrator that is specialized in medical and health services management. The nursing home Administrator will supervise clinical and administrative affairs of nursing home. Typical duties include overseeing staff, managing financial matters, providing excellent customer service and quality of care to our residents, ensuring adequate supplies, managing facility and life safety enforcement, building census, networking with community stakeholders, and other duties as position requires.
Education Requirements
Bachelor’s degree and Florida Nursing Home Administrator license.
Skills Required
The nursing home Administrator will be able to absorb and interpret large amounts of possibly conflicting information and possess good communication skills to effectively manage a nursing facility.
Nursing Home Administrator job duties include:
· Manage the day-to-day operations of the facility and keep the organization on track for its long-term goals and mission
· Coordinate and provide leadership to each clinical, managerial, and custodial team, and ensure that they work together effectively
· Hire (and fire) staff and employees at every level
· Ensure the facility operates in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations
· Coordinate with clinical staff to ensure residents’ individual care plans are being followed
· Provide regular safety and compliance training
· Create and maintain a budget
· Oversee billing and set fees
· Act as the ‘face’ of the organization to the governing board, the public, and residents’ families; and as a liaison between staff, residents, and families
Plan and direct operations of the nursing home based on policies established by the owner and governing board.
24/7 responsibility for all aspects of care provided to residents and for the nursing home’s environmental functioning.
Direct the hiring and training of employees.
Direct the activities of the medical, nursing, technical, clerical, laundry, housekeeping, maintenance, social service, activity, and volunteer staff.
Maintain and develop standards, policies, programs, and operating procedures which comply with federal and state regulations.
Administer budgets and service rates.
Prepare official s for the nursing home’s governing body and state and federal agencies.
Attend meetings with staff, families, the governing body, insurance companies, and Medicare and Medicaid administrators.
Interview families of persons seeking admittance to the nursing home.
Given the 24/7 nature of nursing homes, the Nursing Home Administrator will often work non-standard hours, and/or more than forty hours per week, and may be on-call on nights, weekends, and holidays.
