We are an established and stable, local company looking for an upbeat, positive-minded Accounting Manager to join our team in Lafayette, LA. The ideal candidate must have professional communication skills, as they will interact with all levels of employees, as well as outside institutions.

In this position, our Accounting Manager will rotate through all levels of business office functions that directly impact our financial operations, ultimately leading to preparation of monthly financial statements that follow all regulatory and accounting guidelines under the supervision of the Controller. Our Accounting Manager will be responsible for identifying and preventing discrepancies, reporting on account variances to our management team, and helping to identify areas of improvement.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Support all aspects of accounting management

• Assist in the preparation of financial statements in compliance with official guidelines and requirements

• Manage journal entries and reconcile accounts for the monthly or annual closing

• Assist in the preparation of budgets or forecasts

• Participate in preparation for the annual audit and annual industry group reporting

• Help in development of reports for management or regulatory bodies

• Review our Company’s accounting information to identify and resolve inaccuracies or imbalances

• Utilize accounting IT system to facilitate processes and maintain records

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Proven experience in a similar position, managing direct reports

• Solid knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and regulations

• Thorough understanding of accounting and financial processes (month close, budgeting, etc.)

• Understanding of data analysis and forecasting

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and general ledger systems

• Well-organized with ability to prioritize

• Professional communication and interpersonal skills

• Attention to detail and problem-solving ability

• BSc/BA in accounting, finance or relevant field
