POSITION OBJECTIVE
The Accounting Manager position is responsible for overseeing all general accounting and financials for the company as a whole; reporting directly to ownership, general management, and Human Resources. The Accounting Manager works directly with the company’s CPA firm on the company’s accounting structure, business transactions and all other strategic processes. This position oversees/ directly manages 3-5 employees in accounting/ billing/ payroll related positions.
Responsibilities include compiling and maintaining financial reports and statements, analyzing balance sheets, managing general ledger accounts, updating financial statements, maintaining account receivable and account payable, paying monthly payroll, and preparing financial reports. Must be well versed in accounting principles and able to work comfortably with numbers and attention to detail. The objective is to provide ownership with the company’s up-to-date financials, make valuable recommendations, and be fully aware of the company’s financial condition to assist in its long-term success.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
· Provide ownership, general management all needed accounting reports for the company’s financials on a daily/ weekly/ monthly basis.
· Fulfill all internal accounting reporting needs, such as income statements for all nine branch locations, month/ quarter end reporting and payroll reporting for company.
· Work directly with management on all branch budgets and P/L structures fir efficiency/ profitability.
· Prepare financial reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing account information.
· Schedule and prepare disbursements, obtaining proper authorization, distributing expenditures, receipts and receivables.
· Review and audit all contract invoices for lease purchases and reconcile these against profitability for each individual contract.
· Manage and conduct all monthly reconciliations for several bank accounts and periodic reconciliations of credit card accounts to ensure accuracy.
· Collect appropriate data and assist with preparation of federal state and local tax reports.
· Assist CPA firm with calculations and issuing financial analysis of the financial statements.
· Assisting in calculations and issuing financial analysis of the financial statements, and assembling information for external auditors for the annual audit.
· Maintain an orderly filing system, tagging and monitoring fixed assets, inventory of all equipment, parts, supplies; recording cash receipts and making bank deposits.
· Complying with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and coordinating, modifying and documenting implementation of accounting systems and accounting control procedure.
· Review, investigate, and correct errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents, and reports and calculating variances from the budget, report significant issues to executive management.
· Provide all clerical and administrative support to management as requested.
SECONDARY FUNCTIONS:
· Monitor, manager all recoding of accounts payables.
· Understand and monitor all contract invoice issues to customers.
· Manager and review weekly all collection on past due accounts.
· Create financial statements and related financial reports as requested.
· Create budgets and P/L reports for all individual branch locations.
· Review all payroll taxes, sales taxes, use taxes, and income taxes with external payroll company.
· Account for fixed assets, inventory.
· Reconcile bank accounts and petty cash accounts.
· Collect information as needed for the annual audit.
· Maintain a coherent system of accounts with a supporting filing system.
· Monitor cash levels daily and report to ownership daily.
