Confidential Hiring for Accountant – Freelance Job at Remote Full Time

We are a charcuterie provisions company based in NYC that makes 40+ SKUs distributed nationwide. We are looking for an Accountant to manage all financial transactions, from fixed payments and variable expenses to bank deposits and budgets. To be successful in this role, you should have previous experience with bookkeeping and a flair for spotting numerical mistakes.

• Experience with CPG Food manufacturing and perishable products is required.

• Experience reviewing and disputing deductions from distributors is required.

Responsibilities

• Accounts Payable: Invoice approval/reconciliation from vendors/copackers for all product received/produced
• Paying invoices from our suppliers and manufacturers (ACH, credit card, checks) Determine schedule for payables weekly
• Log payments in Quickbooks
• Accounts Receivable: Process payments in Quickbooks (ACH) and deposit checks in business bank account.
• Send reminders to customers about overdue invoices and notices of skipped invoices in payment Deposit checks in business bank account and log in QB
• Issue Credit Memos to customers including approved deductions
• Log all promotions, spoils, returns, and sample allowances to reconcile with MCBs and credit memos from customers.
• Log customer promotions in Deductions spreadsheet; enter dollar amount, qty sold, credit memo details after promotion is completed.
• Review credit memos; approve or dispute as necessary
• Dispute deductions with distributors, clients

Skills

• Work experience as an Accountant
• Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, including the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online
• Experience with general ledger functions
• Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $50.00 – $60.00 per hour
