Job description

Company is seeking a Controller to oversee its Financial/Accounting Department with multiple downstream entities. The Corporate Controller is an integral part of the Management Team, reporting to the CFO. Candidate must have a strong ability to define, execute, and measure key deliverables for the A/F team. Key qualities include management of internal controls, strategic initiative, time management, and accuracy. Manufacturing experience in a midsize or larger environment is preferred.

Basic Function:

The Controller is responsible for budget development/management, timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close, financial analysis, forecasting, accounts payable and receivable management, and financial/KPI reporting/implementation. This individual will manage a team of 4-6 and provide oversight for all areas of general accounting, financial reporting, AP, AR, and internal auditing areas. The Corporate Controller should expect to spend much of their time on the accounting and finance functions, specifically analysis, reporting and forecasting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Establishes and maintains the company’s financial principles, practices, procedures, and initiatives.
• Ensure the integrity of the financial data; identify potential areas of financial risk and opportunities to support growth while maintaining profit margins.
• Successfully implemented internal control on cash transactions.
• Oversee the maintenance of fiscal records and preparation of financial reports.
• Analyzes and interprets cost, budget, policies, and profit opportunity trends and present recommendations.
• Establishes procedures and internal controls to ensure compliance with all relevant government and industry legislation and regulations.
• Manages the department staff including training, performance management, and coaching.
• Effective time management to reduce accounting departments working hours.
• Manages the annual budgeting process and monthly/quarterly reviews.
• Develop understanding of all contracts; bring attention to the Management Team any unsatisfactory issues. Review and approve all journal entries alone with appropriate documentation.
• Analyze production cost and improve job quoting process.

Skills Needed:

• Analytical with the ability to present monthly budget and financial reporting.
• Accountable for the performance of the accounting staff.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including ability to articulate recommendations in a concise and timely manner.
• Manages multiple tasks and responsibilities in an orderly manner and in compliance with internal controls.

Education/Experience:

• A minimum of 5 years as a Corp/Divisional Controller or Controller
• Strong Leadership Skill-set
• A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business
• MBA preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $110,000.00 – $130,000.00 per year
