Overview:
Position SummaryThe IT Systems Manager is responsible for managing multiple IS technical teams. The manager plans and coordinates dayto-day activities of operations and support teams in accordance with Concentra business goals and information technology department goals and Concentra policies, procedures, and practice.
The Details• Supervise engineering, operations and support teams including hiring, performance management, training and development in accordance with Concentra HR policies practices and procedures and ensure that IS Operations staff is well coordinated on assigned projects in terms of communications with the company, scheduling, and setting/meeting expectations• Set clear objectives, evaluate progress against objectives, and instill performance-oriented culture with focus on accountability• Be accountable for operational results in terms of group and department performance standards/metrics, customer satisfaction and budget/expenses• Liaise with clinical, business and IS staff to resolve issues and outstanding problems in the area of application performance and system uptime; escalate issues in a timely fashion to leadership and vendor support teams• Collaborate with internal teams, vendors and stakeholders to align deliverables to meet business requirements and expectations• Identify issues, formulate and implement recommendations/solutions for clients/users• Provide input into Concentra’s overall Technical Process and Operations Strategy• Lead strategic planning sessions, challenging the status quo where appropriate and drive decision making process• Mange multiple enterprise-wide initiatives simultaneously• Accountable for developing, reviewing and updating policies supporting organizational efforts and departments; ensuring team awareness and alignment• This job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job. Education/Credentials• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from an accredited college or university or equivalent education and experience• In lieu of undergraduate degree, the ratio is 1:1 meaning one year of college equals one year of work experience and vice versa
Job-related Experience• Customarily has at least 5 years of leadership experience with three or more years in a Managerial role • Experience managing complex projects• Experience managing multiple teams• Experience managing remote teams• Experience delivering large scale initiatives from end to end• Strong experience with industry standard Windows Server, Cloud Infrastructure, Office 365, VMWare and Citrix• Background in Hyper Converged Infrastructure (HCI)Job-related Skills/Competencies• Concentra Core Competencies of Service Mentality, Attention to Detail, Sense of Urgency, Initiative and Flexibility• Ability to make decisions or solve problems by using logic to identify key facts, explore alternatives, and propose quality solutions• Outstanding customer service skills as well as the ability to deal with people in a manner which shows tact and professionalism• The ability to properly handle sensitive and confidential information (including HIPAA and PHI) in accordance with federal and state laws and company policies • Ability to interface with executive level management and give senior level presentations• Strong attention to detail• Proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and initiatives, estimating work tasks and forecasting resource levels and mix of skills needed to support team objectives• Strong communications skills to effectively communicate across the IS organization, to senior leadership, key business stakeholders, and external vendor/customers• Strong leadership, project management skills, time management and vendor management skills• Demonstrated leadership and team building skills, with the ability to manage, train, and motivate people, and instill accountability, ownership, and transparency focused on on-time delivery on projects and commitments and who have a strong understanding of the needs of the business teams they support• Ability to coordinate and work with other departments• Excellent organizational skills with ability to multi-task and remove blockages for the team• Can be counted on when times are tough to do the right thing. Work is performed in primarily in the office/field environment. Involves frequent contact with clients, staff, management, and others. Position requires flexibility in working hours. Travel: Occasional (may include overnight) travel up to 20% by land or air is required of employee in this position. While traveling the employee may encounter varying weather conditions, road and walking surfaces and will need to adjust to those conditions (i.e., inclement weather, slippery surfaces, wet surfaces, uneven surfaces, humid, cold, or hot temperatures, etc.). Also, while traveling the employee will need to adjust to the physical demands that may include lifting to place luggage in overhead bin(s), standing in line(s), walking, sitting for unknown periods of time, and other physical demands that travelingmay impose on a person.
