Responsibilities

OVERVIEW:

This 8-week program is designed for college juniors or seniors who wish to study and experience the operations of a large healthcare corporation. The paid internship includes participatory as well as observational activities. The intern will be given work assignments applicable to his/her career development. Opportunities for new skill development include participating as a team member, focusing on quality outcomes, and evaluating work output.

Program

• The internship program will consist of classroom lecture and of supervised work experience.
• Each student will be assigned a mentor who will meet weekly with the intern and will guide his/her experience.
• Management will identify up to two individuals within the corporation that the intern will shadow for a half day.
• The intern will tour a local clinic and corporate department, as applicable.
• Reading assignments, group discussions, and/or lunch & learns will be a part of the experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• Currently working towards a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university. Focus on rising Juniors and Seniors.
