Job Title: Software Engineer -Java Backend/API

Duration of project: 6 months

Location: Tallahassee, FL /Remote

Description:

Design, develop, document, test, and debug new and existing software systems and/or applications. Participate in full development life cycle including requirements analysis and design. Write technical specifications based on conceptual design and stated business requirements. Support, maintain, and document software functionality. Identify and evaluate new technologies for implementation. Analyze code to find causes of errors and revise programs as needed. Participate in software design meetings and analyze user needs to determine technical requirements. Consult with end-user to prototype, refine, test, and debug programs to meet needs. Conducts routine SDLC tasks as directed.

REQUIRED SKILLS:
Minimum 3+ years of experience in Java development, working on multiple projects and systems.
Experience working with Rest APIs.
Experience working in Spring, Springboot.
Demonstrated ability to work on projects of all sizes in a technical environment.

ADDITONAL PREFERRED SKILLS:
Experience working in Couchbase or other NoSQL databases.
Experience working in Kafka or other messaging queues.
Experience working in PostgreSQL, MySQL, or other RDBMSes.
Experience working in Cucumber or similar TDD tools.
Experience working in Atlassian Stack.
Experience working in AWS technologies.
Experience with Splunk, Kanban.
Experience with Software testing frameworks.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $60.00 – $65.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift

Experience:

• REST APIs: 5 years (Preferred)
• Java: 5 years (Preferred)
• Spring/Spring boot: 4 years (Preferred)
