Compass Academy Network (CAN) employs teachers during the month of July for the keystone summer program. Teachers schedules are 8-4:30 M-F for the entire month of July (excluding holidays) with required training days during the week prior and a wrap-up day the week following the program. Curriculum and lesson plans are provided, which includes daily lessons for three grade levels (6-8) in Math & Decision-Making. Learn more about CAN at our website: https://compassacademynetwork.org
As a member of the Compass Academy Network faculty, teachers are responsible for:
– Teaching, counseling, supervising, and caring for students
– Delivering instruction in accordance with the curriculum designed and distributed and in alignment with the Compass Academy Network mission and values
– Following all Compass Academy Network policies and procedures
– Holding students to high standards of performance in and out of the classroom
– Maintaining professionalism in all interactions
– Collaborating with CAN team members
– Mentoring college students who work for the program as Peer Mentors
– Assisting with day-to-day program operations and special events, such as lunch service and snacks, attendance and dismissal, field trips, and graduation
– Ensuring facility stewardship for the host facility in all areas used by the program
– Participating in training and wrap-up before and after the July program
– Attending quarterly meetups during the school year to maintain connections with students and offer supplemental programming year-round
– Communicating with parents as needed
– Participating in any administrative meetings as they arise during our outside of the summer program

CAN partners with rural school districts to support student growth and learning, especially during the summer months. The program’s objective is to position students to return to school in the fall empowered and motivated to start the year with enthusiasm and strengthened skills.
