We are hiring!

Would you like to work with special education students successfully transition from high school to adulthood? Help students become gainfully employed, successfully engaged in post-secondary education/training or serving as part of our armed forces? If so, Community Workforce Solutions is the place for you!

Under the supervision of the Transition Services Manager, the School Based Transition Instructor position is responsible for providing direct services to students (ages 14-22) with disabilities. This includes understanding and being able to communicate individually or in groups, to facilitate learning in the 5 areas outlined by WIOA regulations:

• Job exploration and counseling
• Work-based learning
• Workplace readiness
• Instruction in self-advocacy
• Post-secondary education counseling

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s in Special Education, Exceptional Children, High-School Education or a closely related field, preferred. Extensive experience working with individuals with Developmental Disabilities may substitute for degree. Must have valid NC Driver’s License and driving record that adheres to Agency standards. Must be able to work in various schools in multiple counties.

Salary

Commensurate with experience.

Physical Requirements

Position is considered sedentary to light, requiring 50% sedentary and 50% mobility. Travel between multiple schools in different counties (Halifax, Nash and Wake). Lifting less than 10 pounds. Requires visual observation and the ability to communicate with a variety of individuals.
