Our client is one of the leading food processing and distribution companies in BC. This is a maintenance technician position in their meat processing facility in Okanagan area in BC. The successful candidate must be very familiar with preventive maintenance for food processing equipment and facilities.

Maintenance Technician

Job Description:

· Develop the preventive maintenance plan, keep all equipment and tools in good working condition

· Read blueprint, diagnose the root reason of machine defects, trouble shooting, build up safety spare parts stock

· Monitor production equipment performance, ensure safety in machine operation and maintenance

· Provide technical training for operators to operate and control equipment properly

· Responsible for machine installation, disassembling and test operating

· Work closely with production supervisors to keep high productivity

· Ensure machinery 5S and Kaizen activities

· Keep flexibility in supporting production 24/7

· Connect to 3rd party maintenance services, provide for outsourced maintenance engineering contract negotiation

· Complete other tasks assigned by the factory manager

Qualifications:

· Over 5 years of maintenance experience for equipment and facilities in manufacturing, experience in a food processing facility is highly appreciated

· Experienced in leading a PMS (Preventive Maintenance System) maintenance

· Strong mechanical skills, able to operate mobile equipment such as forklifts and cranes

· Excellent communication skills in verbal and written English, both internally and externally

· Excellent performance under pressure

· Experienced in manufacturing industry familiar with HACCP and WHMIS

· Able to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance

· Strong service attitude, be able to support production 24/7

· Be able to work indoors/outdoors under various weather conditions

· Millwright, red seal trade in mechanical and electrical are highly appreciated

Education:

· High School or above

Experience:

· Maintenance in manufacturing: 3 years (required)

· Food processing facility: 3 years (required)

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: From $55,000.00 per year

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday
