We are seeking an Education Program Manager to develop and support content for Common Sense’s Digital Citizenship Program. As an Education Program Manager, you will work on a team to conceptualize and create high-quality and research-based K–12 learning resources and curriculum.
EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Full-time (40 hours per week)
REPORTS TO: Director, Education Development & Programs
LOCATION: San Francisco, CA (remote available)
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
Your goal is to create resources that support students, educators, and schools in creating a positive and productive culture around media and technology.
Education Content Development
Conceptualize, plan, and develop friendly, easy-to-use educational content for educators and students on digital citizenship, news and media literacy, social and emotional learning, and related topics (lessons, activities, guides, videos, webinars, interactives, professional development materials).
Manage large-scale content development projects, working cross-functionally with Design, Product, Video, and Marketing teams.
Manage education content on our website, including uploading and organizing.
Iterate on existing content, making improvements based on user feedback and product advancements.
Stay on the pulse of educator needs and user preferences for the Digital Citizenship Program and online professional development.
Pilot new content and develop processes for continual feedback from educators, students, and experts to help inform revisions.
Ensure content is aligned with and drives adoption of our engagement journey.
Educator Professional Development
Define professional learning competencies, structure, and learning pathways.
Develop self-guided, asynchronous online learning.
Apply adult learning principles to create interactive learning experiences.
Write advice and newsletter articles.
Develop standards alignment charts.
Write implementation support resources.
Get ongoing feedback from educators about professional development preferences.
Content Partner Management
Support the management of content and licensing partnerships, including working with partners on content adaptations, and integration of learning content into partner platforms and programs.
Additional Duties
Carry out other special projects and duties related to the Digital Citizenship Program and deliverables as needed.
Present in webinars and at conferences.
Attend user observation sessions and utilize UX to acquire feedback to support content and program development.
WHAT WE LOOK FOR:
Former K–12 educator with experience creating teacher- and student-friendly materials, such as lesson plans, student activities, videos, and professional development.
Background content knowledge of digital learning, digital citizenship, and media literacy.
Knowledgeable about best practices and challenges of teaching and learning with technology.
Background in online and in-person teacher professional development, adult learning principles, and instructional design.
Knowledge of the video development pre- and post-production process, including storyboarding, scripting, and storytelling.
Passionate about designing high-quality, research-based learning resources for educators and students on digital citizenship, media literacy, and teaching with technology.
Enthusiastically open to feedback, revisions, and improvements as part of the content development process.
Knowledge of Common Sense Education’s mission, suite of offerings, audience, and teacher implementation strategies for digital citizenship and digital learning.
Follow the latest trends and research on children and technology, digital citizenship, digital learning, and professional development for teachers.
Comfortable and collegial working style with a variety of partners from pre-K–12, industry, academics.
Organized and able to work on multiple projects with overlapping deadlines.
Nice-to-have knowledge: Articulate, Google Suite, Asana, Slack, Zoom, Salesforce, Google Analytics, SurveyMonkey.
