The Finance Assistant will ensure Comic Relief’s suppliers, grantees and staff expenses are paid accurately and in a timely manner. They will also assist with work across the finance team as required if time permits.
Check, record and pay grants, purchase ledger invoices, company credit card statements and staff expenses.
Reconcile suppliers’ statements and liaise with suppliers and budget holders to obtain missing invoices/credit notes and deal with queries.
Set up new payees and maintain address, contact and bank details.
Ensure bank entries for invoices paid by direct debit and standing order are posted to the finance system.
Reconcile bank account for expenditure.
Contribute to financial control month end and year-end audit process
Support on grants compliance as required.
Part qualified or desire to work towards an accounting qualification such as AAT/ACCA or qualified by experience.
Experience of using finance systems and invoice/expense management systems
Trustworthy & respectful of confidentiality – to deal with sensitive information and handle cash.
Good time management – to prioritise work and meet month end deadlines.
IT literacy – to be able to edit documents and spreadsheets, use e-mail and Outlook calendar effectively.
High degree of accuracy and numeracy
Good communication skills – for dealing with suppliers and staff members.
A fun, positive and engaged professional that demonstrates high proactivity.
