Comcate Hiring for Chief Technology Officer at Remote Full Time

Comcate is seeking a highly motivated CTO. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Part-Time Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to lead our Saas software company focused on providing innovative software solutions to cities and counties. As our CTO, you will be responsible for driving the technical direction of the company, overseeing product development, and ensuring that our technology infrastructure meets the needs of our customers.

Comcate was founded in 2000 with the mission of supporting local municipalities. Our original application suite (legacy app) is built mostly with PHP and hosted in AWS commercial. In 2016, we decided to rebuild our legacy application and we developed a new application using modern architecture and programming languages; an entirely new and separate application (on a different stack)! Both applications are still live today and support thousands of day-to-day users.

The hire will be joining an ambitious team working remotely across the US and in other parts of the world.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the development of our Saas software products, ensuring that they meet the needs of our customers and are scalable, reliable, and secure.
• Establish technical standards and processes to ensure that our products are developed to the highest standards of quality and efficiency.
• Manage and mentor our development team, providing technical guidance and ensuring that they are working effectively as a team.
• Collaborate with our executive team to develop and implement our product roadmap, and ensure that our technology roadmap aligns with our overall business goals.
• Work with our sales and marketing teams to understand customer needs and provide technical expertise to support sales and marketing efforts.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and trends to determine their potential impact on our products and our industry.
• Ensure that our technology infrastructure is secure and resilient, and develop disaster recovery and business continuity plans to ensure that our systems remain operational in the event of a disruption.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in software development, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Experience developing and managing Saas software products, ideally in the city and county government market.
• Strong understanding of software architecture and design principles, as well as experience with agile development methodologies.
• Experience with cloud computing platforms such as AWS, and with modern software development tools such as Git and Jira.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with a track record of building and managing high-performing development teams.

This is a part-time position that requires a commitment of at least 10 hours per week and up to 20 hours per week.
