About the Team:
The Internet Measurement Platform (IMP) provides Comcast and other MSO partners the mechanism to validate the delivery of high-speed data products. These measurements lead to Radio Frequency (RF) technology improvements and increased data rates included in the Data Over Cable Services Interface Specification (DOCSIS) standard. This role directly interfaces with the platform architect, device engineers, and other platform owners to improve its resiliency and implement new features and measurements for Comcast and its partners.

What You’ll Do:
Collaborates with project stakeholders to identify product and technical requirements. Conducts analysis to determine integration needs.

Designs new software and web applications, supports applications under development and customizes current applications. Assists with the software update process for existing applications and roll-outs of software releases.

Participates in training representatives and operations staff on internally developed software applications.

Researches, writes and edits documentation and technical requirements, including software designs, evaluation plans, test results, technical manuals and formal recommendations and reports.

Monitors and evaluates competitive applications and products. Reviews literature, patents and current practices relevant to the solution of assigned projects.

Provides technical leadership throughout the design process and guidance with regards to practices, procedures and techniques. Serves as a guide and mentor for junior-level Software Development Engineers.

Works with Quality Assurance team to determine if applications fit specification and technical requirements.

Displays in-depth knowledge of engineering methodologies, concepts, skills and their application in the area of specified engineering specialty.

Displays in-depth knowledge of and ability to apply, process design and redesign skills. Presents and defends architectural, design and technical choices to internal audiences.

Displays knowledge of and ability to apply, project management skills.

Skills & Experience We’re Looking For:
A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.

A broad technical proficiency, with a thirst for knowledge, and a ‘can do’ attitude.

Ability and readiness to quickly learn new technologies.

You are self-motivating and driven. You explore when there is time and focus on what is important to achieve our goals.

Take high-level design decisions from the team and turn them into reality that solves customer issues through collaboration.

Team player, excellent communication skills and able to successfully articulate technology concepts to both business and technical audience.

Demonstrated ability to quickly understand business requirements, propose reference architectures, and possible technology solutions.

Willingness to mentor junior team members.

Additional Technical Skills We’re Looking For:
3+ years of experience with writing Go code.

Proficient working in a Linux environment.

Proficient working with AWS.

Proficient writing tests for your own code.

Proficient creating shell scripts and tooling.

Some networking knowledge is a plus (DOCSIS, EPON, OSI network layers, TCP/IP, Firewalls, traffic shaping, and load balancing).

Familiarity with continuous integration/deployment processes and tools such as Concourse and Github Actions.

Experience with deploying and operating infrastructure running containerized micro services-based platforms.
