The Comcast Marketing Technology engineering team is responsible for developing, integrating and operating the capabilities marketing uses to engage in Direct Mail, Email, SMS and many other critical channels. Job Summary

Comcast’s Marketing Technologies group is seeking a Software Engineer to join our Engagement Data platform team with 7+ years of experience with planning and designing Bigdata applications, Cloud Infrastructure, API’s.

This position is responsible for leading the charge to improve the infrastructure environment, including development of roadmap, solution implementation, maintenance, and support of the Engagement data platform. The incumbent supports a culture of operational excellence and partners with other areas of the business.

The ideal candidate will contribute to projects from design to implementation, including new programs, improvements, and modifications, should have strong experience working in a DevSecOps team and will be expected to contribute to development, deployment, production support, monitoring, data quality and automation of their applications.

Core Responsibilities

Collaborates with project stakeholders to identify product and technical requirements. Conducts analysis to resolve integration needs.

Leads all aspects of the researching, writing, and editing of documentation and technical requirements, including evaluation plans, test results, technical manuals and formal recommendations and reports for the cloud deployment pipelines and infrastructure.

Keeps current with technological developments within the industry. Monitors and evaluates competitive applications and products. Reviews current practices relevant to the solution of assigned projects.

Provides technical leadership throughout the design process and guidance with regards to practices, procedures, and techniques. Serves as a guide and mentor for junior level Software Development Engineers for software code and pipeline implementation in the Cloud environment.

Combine Infrastructure as Code with Software Development methodologies to deliver services across the engagement data platform.

Assists in tracking and evaluating performance metrics. Ensures team delivers software on time, to specification and within budget.

Expertise in knowledge of engineering methodologies, concepts and skills and their application around specified engineering specialty.

Will be defining Cloud infrastructure strategy, which includes designing multi-phased implementation roadmaps

Required / Desired Skills & Experience:
At least 7 years of work experience in Bigdata environments performing systems planning, architecture design, administration, performance tuning, and troubleshooting experience in a customer-facing, highly available environments

At least 3 years of expertise with AWS cloud computing platform components or similar cloud infrastructure

Experience with container orchestration tools like Kubernetes and Docker.

Experience with monitoring tools like Splunk, ELK, Prometheus, Grafana stack or Datadog.

Experience with one of the CI/CD automation Pipelines like GitHub, Jenkins, Concourse, Chef, Ansible, Puppet or similar tools

At least 3 years supporting large-scale database applications with a clear understanding of databases, Bigdata applications and the ability to write / parse SQL queries and databases

Familiarity with tools development like Spark, Scala, Python or NodeJS with a focus on automation to reduce time on repeatable tasks and data aggregation / presentation

Experience designing API’s and Bigdata applications environments on AWS

Programming abilities in any of the following Java, JavaScript, NodeJS or Python

Working alongside team members, to develop and design cloud data solutions

Exploring and discovering new insights and data wrangling of heterogeneous data

Architecture, design, lead analysis, and development of data warehouse and business intelligence solutions

Must be proficient in NoSQL, SQL and relational database development and design
