Columbia College’s Robert W. Plaster School of Business invites
applications for a full-time Instructor position in Business and
Human Resources. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications
and experience. The School is seeking ACBSP accreditation within
the next few years.
Qualifications: An MBA/Masters in Human Resources is required, as
is a strong commitment to teaching . Relevant professional
certification(s) highly desired. Preference will be given to
applicants with demonstrated successful teaching experience and/or
real world experience in the field.
This is a full-time position in the undergraduate day program on
the campus in Columbia, MO with a twelve/twelve credit hour load
during a nine-month academic year. Teaching responsibilities
include undergraduate (and graduate courses depending on
qualifications) in human resources and other business courses as
assigned in the day campus but also as assigned in the evening
campus and/or online/virtual. Teaching, professional development
and service are all required aspects of the position. Departmental
service responsibilities include but are not limited to curriculum
development and oversight of relevant course offerings (including
for all venues). Participation in department meetings, faculty
association, committees, or other service activities such as
academic assessment and curriculum development (as assigned),
co-curricular activities and College events (may require occasional
afternoon, evening, and/or weekend commitments). Compliance with
College policies and directions including but not limited to
keeping records, providing grades on a timely basis, maintaining
office hours, and evaluating student performance, etc. is required.
Strong interpersonal skills, cross-cultural sensitivity, and
demonstrated potential to contribute positively to a College
community are expected.
